Catalogue Entry

Rectangular beads with four holes cut in their sides and spindle shaped beads have been arranged with small disk shaped beads. Made of red, orange and blue (one bead) glass, the orange beads have irregularly spaced red stripes. It is thought that the rod technique, one form of core technigue, was used in the manufacture of the spindle-shaped beads. The rectangular beads may have been cast. The surfaces have been polished to an extremely smooth finish. The red and orange colored glass is thought to have been in imitation of carnelian, agate, and other red colored precious gems.
