セティ１世銘壺せてぃいっせいめいつぼ

　紺色ビーズの中央部を、青緑色のヒエログリフで書かれた銘文がめぐっている。文字は本体に象嵌されてくっきりと浮かび上がり、工人の技術の冴えを示す。銘文はカルトゥーシュの中にアメンホテプIII世（在位前1390－前1353年頃）とその妻ティイの名を含み、「善き神、ネブ・マアト・ラー（アメンホテプIII世の即位名）、生命を与えられし者、（そして）王の妻ティイ、デンデラの女主人ハトホル女神に愛されし者、彼女が生きんことを」と記されている。

Small cylindrical jar coated in cobalt colored glaze. A rectangular frame in the upper half of the body states "Men-maat-ra, beloved of Osiris", the name of Seti I (reign dates ca.1294 - 1279 BC) inlaid in turquoise colored heiroglyphs. The mouth spreads out slightly while the rim of the mouth and the base protrude. Cylindrical jars made of clay and stone were made from the end of the Pre-Dynastic period through the Early Dynastic period, and then in later periods this same shape was made in a smaller form in either faience or glass. This jar would have been used as a container for soft ointments.
