Ribbed Bowl

Yellowish brown translucent glass. The walls of the bowl descend almost vertically from the mouth rim to the bottom of the sides, which then turn inward in a relatively sharp curve to the foot. The center of the base has a slight hollow. A single thin horizontal groove is cut right below the edge of the inner mouth, with a pair of parallel grooves, one large and one small, cut near the point of bend in the wall. Two thin concentric grooves run along the outer edge of the base, while a thin concentric groove is cut in the center of the base. The outer surface has 67 ribs. These ribs are essentially the same size and they stand out clearly from the surface of the vessel. Almost the entire inner and outer surfaces of the vessel have become iridescent.
