Grape Flask

This bottle was blown from greenish translucent glass and then molded. The grape pattern was one of the popular motifs of this period and the vessel shape of this mold closely resembles that of cat. No. 149 head flask. It is possible that this mold was first used to create the head flask forms, but then, for reasons of abrasion or other damage, it may have been remade into a grape-shaped mold. This bottle likely held perfumed oils or other such liquids.
